Iglis Virious's Luathas Mass - 9/23/2019 - The Retelling of the Tale of the Seal Breakers

The following is a direct transcription of each Aisling's words as they were said during the mass. The only edits made are the removal of dialogue not important to the sermon.

Iglis:
Thank you everyone for joining me. I am Iglis Viriou, priest of Luathas. Normally, my masses are pretty by the books and are quite routine. However, this time, I'd prefer to go a little more by the books... in a more literal sense. Due to the recent influx of new sparks, specifically from ((a few months ago)), I felt it would be a good idea to tell the tale of the Seal Breakers of Temuair. I would like to state up front that these words are not my own, but rather a reading (albeit not literal delivery) from Biothean Magus's biography. So, without further adieu, this is the story of how the five aislings whose images are immortalized behind us broke the seal of Temuair and discovered Medenia. These five aislings were the priest Zephaine, the rogue Akter, the monk WarPanther, the warrior Weakest, and the wizard BioMagus.

The breaking of the Seal began when Law and his Dark Aisling army invaded in Deoch 34. It is said that Cedric, a Burgess of Mileth, once traveled to the land of Medenia before we knew of it. However, when he arrived, he was attacked by Law. Law stole Cedric's identity and returned to Temuair. He hid in secrecy for a few deoches before revealing his true identity and his intentions to rule Temuair. Aisling-like creatures, the Dark Aislings as we call them, started to attack the citizens of Temuair. It wasn't long before the Dark Aisling army was defeated, but this paved the way for a new trial: breaking the seal of Temuair.

At the bottom of Lynith Sea, one would enter the Guardian Room. Aislings teamed up with one of each class to try to defeat each of the five Guardians. Once they did so, they advanced to the next area. However, those who failed to defeat the beasts past the Guardians would have to fight and take down these Guardians again. Many groups of aislings took up their arms for this quest, though little were successful. After a double moon of failure after failure, a great hint was given to the Aislings by the Mundanes, informing them that the Tristar rings given from a Mundane beyond the giant mantis of Porte Forest were needed to defeat these Guardians. With this knowledge in hand, a group of five aislings all wearing Tristar rings would be able to defeat these Guardians, though it was still no easy task.

Legends say that back then, Wizards of pure heart who chose not to divulge into other paths at any point had a very potent staff, that made all of their magic cast with no hesitation. Many look back on this period of history as blasphemous, to quote Biothean Magus herself, as this staff was seen as an unfair advantage and would soon be taken away by the mundanes, replaced by the staff that pure wizards know today once they master. This staff ultimately is what got the group of five behind us through this behemoth of a job. An Aisling by the name of Krytos had a group that was very dedicated to finishing this task, but eventually came to the conclusion that they would not be able to without the power of this pure staff.

Zephaine and BioMagus participated in the battles often, and with many different groups, making it past the Guardians on a few occasions... and soon after being greeted by the Elemental Creants. It is said that it took around two and a half double moons until the first group made it to these monsters. The first Elemental Creant was that of Fire, then came Wind, Earth followed suit, and finally, Sea. After the weakness of the Guardians was discovered, BioMagus, Zephaine, and Weakest, who BioMagus claims to have been one of the strongest warriors in all of Temuair at the time, would look for a rogue and monk to join them in finishing this quest. One night, with Akter and WarPanther, they began their journey. Their method was to use the powerful pure wizard staff in combination with Mor Strioch Pian Gar. They were the first group to defeat all four of the Elemental creants and reach the Seal Master. They fought valiantly, but it was for naught. After a time limit of five minutes, the Seal Master threw them out of his chambers. That very same night, the group joined forces again and soon reached the Seal Master a second time. As they walked across the Dragon Bridge, it is written here that BioMagus recalls the excitement of the five Aislings as they entered the Seal Master's chamber for the first time. This battle, in BioMagus's own words, was one of the most intense that she had ever felt. Under the five minute time limit, it was quite stressful. Her friends body blocked her from the Seal Master while she throw blast after blast of Mor Strioch Pian Gar at him. With around thirty seconds left, the Seal Master was nearly defeated. At this point, BioMagus commanded the group to break formation and attack the Seal Master with all their might. Weakest wasted no time and started to fiercely combat the Seal Master. BioMagus kept away, relying on Hydele Deums to keep her healthy as she continued assaulting the Seal Master with Mor Strioch Pian Gar. In what seemed to be only seconds left on the clock, the Seal Master was vanquished. A sigh of relief came over the group, and they were awarded with the title that they Broke the Seal of Temuair in Deoch 35.

Law fled to Medenia, but reminded the Aislings of Temuair that this would not be the last they would hear of him. In honor of their bravery and accomplishment, these statues were erected shortly after, overlooking the ships that now take us to the land Law fled to. Nowadays, Law resides deep in the Lost Ruins of Medenia, and occasionally invades Temuair with his Dark Aisling army... Thankfully, he has yet to win against all of the wonderful Aislings we have here. And thus... the tale of the Seal Breakers concludes.

Merisa:
*solemnly claps* Thank you for telling the tale.

Peppita:
That was wonderful thank you!

Muraudor:
Even in my old age, I've never heard the story told with such detail. You've re-ignited my spark Iglis.

Kimeera:
Yes, that was very enjoyable

Iglis:

It is my pleasure. I have always been fascinated with this story since my spark was new. Thank you all so much for coming and listening to my retelling.

Asclepia:
Thank you for the great story!

Gaeth:
it was a joy to attend
