Iglis Viriou's Luathas Mass - 9/2/2019

The following is a direct transcription of each Aisling's words as they were said during the mass. The only edits made are the removal of dialogue not important to the sermon.

Iglis:
Welcome everyone to the Luathas temple. I am Iglis Viriou, a humble priest of these grounds. As is standard procedure for my masses, I would like any of us to share anything we have learned in the past double moon ((1 week)) that they think is interesting or useful, with me taking the lead. However... Since I was unable to host mass last double moon, feel free to include anything that has happened within the last two double moons. Afterwards, I will lead us in prayer, then mass will be cast. As I said, I'll take the lead. I don't have too much to say this time, but what I do have is the reason I personally invited Gliocan priest Merisa in order to give her input. It's not new knowledge to me... but rather, an important reminder. No matter what should happen between you and another, there is always room for forgiveness. A bridge burned can always be rebuilt. I actually believe this ties nicely both to the Luathas and Gliocian faiths. For without friendship and comradery, the flow of knowledge can easily be stagnated. Books and scrolls are valuable tools in the preservation of such knowledge, but only so much can be done with them. There are simply some things that require another hand, another mind, another body in order to take in. What say you, Merisa?

Merisa:
*nods* Knowledge is so critical in daily Aisling and Mundane life, for that matter. It allows us to preserve what we know... and has been passed down since the times of Grinnael to the Deochian times today. And yet... when hearts are not open, or worse, when knowledge is twisted and used in cruel ways, consequences can be really painful. It truly takes a village, for while our Sparks are bright, we all have our limitations. I hope these thoughts made some sense!

Iglis:
*nods* They did, thank you so much for your input. Is there anything else that anyone would like to add, or share, before our prayer?

Kedian:
*raises his hand*

Iglis:
Go ahead, Sir Kedian. The floor is yours.

Kedian:
Luathas teaches us that we may discover and find divine knowledge, or gnosis. A deep and concrete understanding, generally of a spiritual nature. This is all true as we know; but I would also ask, what is the utility of such knowledge if you do not share it? Although that blissful experience of receiving it is indeed, often singular; knowledge not shared is knowledge which must one day die. So, as we receive it, we must share it with our friends, our fellowship, and so on. ...And it is an obvious statement, that people generally respond better to knowledge that is shared in a friendly manner, rather than being shouted at; though I knew many Luathas followers who tried the latter.

Iglis:
*smiles and bows head* Thank you for sharing. To build off of Kedian's point, I would like to ask those in attendance tonight to continue this mass's theme throughout the next double moon. Help those that you can by spreading what knowledge you are able, and extend a friendly hand to those who need it. Would anyone else wish to share, or shall I begin our prayer?

There is a short period of silence.

Iglis:

Alright, without further adieu... Please join me in not only prayer to our Lord, Luathas, but also Lady Glioca, who has inspired tonight's mass.

May this day be blessed with gifts
Lessons, understanding, and friends.
May my energy be a gift to all I meet.
Let me be centered, healing, and open.
May I face the day with courage, kindness, insight, and compassion.
May my spirit and body honor this day.
